Kurdish lunch in a private home at moshav Ajur. While we are living in the 21st century, it sometimes seems like time stopped at Osnats home capturing everything from the beautiful Kurdish culture at her mothers’ house. Osnat preserves in her everyday actions the habits and culture from the past. Things that are no longer in use can be found in the family house. In the yard you can always find a “Sadj” laying over an open fire preparing traditional Kurdish bread. Inside the modern house you can find a unique kitchen with a primus and portable stove. In spring she picks grapes leaves and in winter arum leaves in order to make traditional meals, always busy in “rolling”. Koobe for the soup or grapes leaves with vegetables.
We will finish this special day with a bike ride and
golf cart ride. We will pass fields, streams and ancient archeologist remains and ride all around the kibbutz, which is in the heart of the fruitful lowlands.
